One session. One fixed fee. Focused on you.
Your legal problem may be complicated. Getting advice should be straightforward.
We have kept the Barristerly scheme simple: one service giving individuals and businesses direct access to an experienced barrister for focused professional advice.
You may want to know where you stand, whether a claim is worth exploring, how to respond to a demand or whether you need to act urgently. You can ask more than one question, provided your enquiry can be considered usefully within the session.
You may even use it for guidance as to how best use AI to assist in your case.
The aim is to help you understand your position and decide what to do next.
What’s included
For £396 including VAT, you receive:
Up to one hour face to face by video — time to explain your concerns, ask questions and discuss your options.
Focused legal advice — an experienced barrister’s assessment based on your account and the agreed scope of your enquiry.
A short next-steps note afterwards — a practical reminder of the main steps discussed.
The conversation is based on the information you provide in your booking form. There is no advance document review.
Three steps to getting advice
1. Book online
Choose your area of law and an available time. Complete the short form with a brief account, your questions, the parties’ names and any important deadlines.
2. Receive confirmation
The barrister checks for conflicts and suitability. If your booking is accepted, the barrister or their chambers sends confirmation, client care terms and payment details. You pay the barrister or their chambers directly; no payment is required to reserve a provisional appointment.
3. Speak to your barrister
Meet by video and discuss your position and options. Your advice may answer your questions, identify urgent action or explain what further assistance would be useful. Your brief next-steps note follows the consultation.
Areas of law
Advice is available on suitable questions concerning:
Property & Land — including landlord and tenant disputes.
Inheritance & Trusts — including wills, probate and estates.
Contract & Consumer — including commercial and building disputes.
General Civil Claims — including negligence, property damage and disputes over goods.
Insolvency & Company — including bankruptcy, director and shareholder disputes.
Criminal & Motoring — including charges, driving offences and sentencing.

Why I created Barristerly
“Throughout more than 35 years as a practising barrister, people have approached me—often in everyday social settings—wanting help to make sense of a legal problem. What they needed was time with someone experienced to discuss where they stood and what to do next.
I created Barristerly to make that conversation easier to arrange: direct access to a barrister, a clear purpose and a fixed price, without unnecessary fuss.”

Let’s talk about your next step
One Hour Session · £396 including VAT
Barristerly is an independent booking and introduction service. Legal advice is provided by the independent barrister you instruct. Barristerly is not a firm of solicitors or a barristers’ chambers and does not itself provide legal advice.
